Effective
Privacy
This site doesn’t ask for or keep personal information. There are no accounts, forms, ads or tracking cookies, and nothing about you is sold or shared.
When you visit
Cloudflare hosts and protects the site. To serve pages and stop attacks, it processes technical details of each request, such as your IP address, your browser and the page you asked for. When it needs to tell people from bots, it may set a security cookie (__cf_bm or cf_clearance). Those cookies keep the site working and aren’t used for advertising. Cloudflare’s privacy policy covers that processing.
Visits are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and doesn’t follow you across sites. It shows totals, such as page views, referring sites and countries, not who you are.
Fonts, images and code come from this site, apart from Cloudflare’s analytics script. There are no third-party ads, social buttons or embedded videos.
When you email
Mail to the-408.com addresses is handled by Google Workspace. Your address and message are used only to reply, and deleted when you ask.
What never happens
- Selling or sharing personal information, or using it for targeted advertising.
- Building profiles of visitors or tracking you on other sites.
- Knowingly collecting information from children under 13. The site isn’t directed at children.
Because nothing is sold or shared, there’s nothing to opt out of. A Global Privacy Control signal is treated as an opt-out anyway.
Your choices
You can block cookies in your browser. If you block Cloudflare’s security cookie, you may be asked to pass a check more often.
To ask what’s held about you, or to have it deleted, write to hello@the-408.com. With no visitor records kept, that’s usually just an email thread.
Changes
This page, and the date at the top, will be updated before anything here changes, for example before a newsletter or a shop opens.
